The Westwood Film Festival is an international film festival that was founded by UCLA students and is a 100% volunteer based festival with the goal of raising awareness for environmental issues such as forest and ocean preservation. There are no employees or sponsors at the Westwood Film Festival as the festival is made possible by generous donations from the founder and director of the Westwood Film Festival.

The Westwood Film Festival main event is a filmmaker/writer optional red carpet gala event that will take place at one of the most popular and picturesque venues for Hollywood premieres where the Westwood Film Festival Lifetime Achievement Award weill be presented to our Academy Award winning guest of honor. Included in the opening night is large-scale Hollywood networking event, full limousine service, complimentary champagne, formal dinner, film screening, red carpet, video interviews, photo opportunities, celebrity meet and greet, filmmaker/writer spotlight and introduction, and much more. This event is not required to be attended by filmmakers or writers.

Our submissions are 100% free and accepted year-round on Film Freeway. You will never be charged to submit to the Westwood Film Festival.

This is our first year and so far we have thousands of submissions from every country in the world so we are expecting an exciting and high quality showcase of films and screenplays from around the world.
